Air Quality Testing for Asthma Triggers & Allergen Screening

Our air quality inspection services include the following tests:

  • Visual Assessment
  • Dust Sampling Assessment – (allergen identification)

GENERAL MOLD INSPECTION & TESTING SERVICES OVERVIEW:

Visual Assessment

A Visual Assessment is a non-invasive visual inspection of the structure (inside and out) for mold and conditions associated with indoor mold growth using state-of-the-art, industry specific equipment to detect unusual conditions such as:

Abnormal changes in temperature, humidity, and moisture retention in construction materials

Potential observed external sources of current and prior water intrusion

Potential observed internal sources of current and prior water intrusion

Includes:

  • Field consultation (findings review)
  • Reference report with government or industry recommended guidelines for self-clean up or referral to an appropriate specialist.
  • Documentation and follow up consultation by a trained RespirCare Associate

Air Quality Mold Sampling Assessment

Conventional Mold Sampling:

The primary purpose of mold sampling is to confirm or rule out the probability that mold is growing or originating indoors. The secondary purpose is to identify and quantify mold spore types and concentrations indoors for potential health risk assessment. There are three conventional mold-sampling methods:

Surface sample; involves using either a cotton swab apparatus or direct tape lift to collect mold from a surface for direct microscopic examination and analysis.

Bulk sample; involves physically extracting a piece of material from a surface for culturing or direct microscopic examination and analysis.

Air sample; involves trapping air in a special cassette specifically designed for direct microscopic examination and analysis.

Your inspector will make sampling recommendations based on observations made in the visual inspection.

Includes:

  • All sampling supplies and field documentation
  • All laboratory fees and analytical reports
  • Data interpretation of laboratory reports and documentation of elevated and/or unusual mold conditions according to Health Canada, United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA), and American Conference for Governmental Industrial Hygienists (ACGIH) references.
  • Independent analytical review by a highly qualified RespirCare Analytical Data Review Specialist with an appropriate Board Awarded American Council for Accredited Certifications (ACAC) certification.
  • Analytical review includes a reference report with links to the USEPA, Health Canada or IICRC S500 and S520 recommended guidelines for self-clean up or referral to an appropriate specialist.

POST-REMEDIATION VERIFICATION

Post-remediation verification is mission-critical in determining the success of a remediation project. Unless certain criteria is met, there is a very high likelihood that mold will return. An independent third-party assessment is your only way to know if that mold is no longer originating from the remediated areas and that all remaining construction materials are dry enough for reconstruction.

Our Services includes:

  • A visual inspection of the work area(s)
  • Moisture assessment of salvaged materials
  • Air sampling of work area(s) with comparative control
  • All sampling supplies and field documentation
  • All laboratory fees and analytical reports
  • Data interpretation of laboratory reports and documentation of elevated and/or unusual mould conditions according to Health Canada, United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA), and American Conference for Governmental Industrial Hygienists (ACGIH) references.
  • Independent analytical review by a highly qualified RespirCare Analytical Data Review Specialist with an appropriate Board Awarded American Council for Accredited Certifications (ACAC) certification.

Analytical review includes a reference report with links to the USEPA, Health Canada or IICRC S500 and S520 recommended guidelines for self-clean up or referral to an appropriate specialist.

Asthma Triggers & Indoor Allergens

Asthma kills over 5,000 North Americans every year.  Since indoor allergens can play a significant role in triggering asthma attacks it is important to recognize potential asthma triggers indoors and reduce your exposure to those triggers. With today’s technology, indoor environments can be tested for asthma triggers and other allergens quickly and affordably.

Our services include:

  • All sampling supplies and field documentation
  • All laboratory fees and analytical reports including an immunoassay for: cat allergens, dog allergens, cockroach allergens, and dust mites
  • Data interpretation of laboratory reports and documentation of elevated levels in excess of American Conference for Governmental Industrial Hygienists (ACGIH) referenced Threshold Limit Values (TLVs).
  • Independent analytical review by a highly qualified RespirCare Analytical Data Review Specialist with an appropriate Board Awarded American Council for Accredited Certifications (ACAC) certification.
  • Analytical review includes a reference report with links to the USEPA or Health Canada recommended guidelines for self-clean up or referral to an appropriate specialist.
Air Quality Testing Price Guide

Contamination Inspections

(following ACAC guidelines)

AIR:
A certified Indoor Environmental inspector will come to your home or place of work and perform a visual and moisture mapping inspection; using the latest technology  which can determine the moisture level inside a wall (approx 1 inch depth) without removing the drywall in most cases.  After completing the inspection, a full report including lab findings ( if sampling done) will be given to the client within 2 business days.

Non Invasive Contaminant Home Inspection      $198 + TAX

Air Samples with Inspections are $99 each

SURFACE:
A Visual and Air Quality Inspection may require Surface sampling.  This includes a swab or tape sample complete with lab results.  We will identify what contaminants exist, what species they are and discuss your options.  This test is typically used when mold can be seen in the building.  A full report of our findings as well as what the surface samples show will be given to the client within 2 business days.

Surface Sampling per sample is $99

DUST:
A Dust Check gives you an overall view of the contaminant history of the building. We take dust samples from each room including flooring and bedding and have it analyzed for allergens and/or molds.  After completing the inspection, a full report of findings will be given to the client within 3 business days.  The report will recommend a plan to eliminate your indoor air quality problems and maintain a healthy home.

Dust Check Sampling add     $395 + TAX
